Lone Star

Coming in Spring of 2025

Texans, as most Americans will tell you, are a naturally contrarian people.

No one knew this better than Governor Willis “Red” Rivers.

In fact, the governor would happily tell you that Texans were in a class by themselves. He, for one, subscribed to the outlandish notion that Texans were superior to other Americans in every way, physically, morally, and culturally.

It is the governor’s belief, therefore, that Texans needed nothing from other Americans or their country. The governor is not alone in this way of thinking, and in the six years he had been in office, he has been successful in persuading the majority of his fellow Texans that independence from the union is a perfectly viable, in fact preferable, option to statehood.

Every problem that Texas considers threatening, from mass immigration to moral decline, its citizens confidently state could be solved more efficiently and effectively by themselves alone.

Overnight, the political movement known as “TEXIT,” soars in popularity among the citizenry.

It is here that the story of Lone Star begins, with the state declaring openly it’s departure from the Republic and branding itself a sovereign nation.

Almost immediately a host of problems besets the new nation, including a changing global energy landscape in response to global warming. Their old way of life gone and their republic truly alone, Texans find themselves plagued by a shaken economy and plummeting public confidence. And soon, their country finds itself facing foreign influences that threaten its very livelihood.

Can the Lone Star state summon the will to survive? Or will the great notion of independence lead to its demise?
